A General Overview Of The Common Causes Of Air Con Water Leaks

HVAC systems are important to all homes. One needs to make sure that these systems are functioning properly all the time to keep their house well-ventilated and comfortable for day-to-day activities. However, much like any other machine, an air con system is also likely to develop issues for time due to factors like constant usage, changing weather, lack of proper maintenance and so on. All of these factors lead to the malfunctioning of the cooling system. Aircon water leaking and dripping is among the most common issues faced by these systems.  These leaks can be caused due to many reasons, blocked air filter being one of them. If the air filter gets blocked, it would end up inhibiting the flow of air through the unit. This will lead to freezing of the air. Hence, when you turn of the cooling system or its desired temperature is reached, the ice formed on the filter shall start to melt, causing leaks. Timely Aircond service and tune-ups are needed to fix such problems.  Moreover, if the air filter is clogged or dirty, the air flow to the evaporator gets obstructed. This will cause a drop in the temperature. In case the coil becomes too cold, it freezes.  If the aircon unit gets turned off, the indoor unit shall stop sucking air to the interior. This will cause warming and result in the melting of the ice accumulated. If this melting ice fills the capacity of the drip tray, it might lead to the leakage of the water. Timely Aircon cleaning can prevent this problem.
